Launch of the climascape program website “Development of a platform and multi-critical application for forecasting, detection and management of risks due to climate change in sites of major cultural and tourist interest–application for selected archaeological sites and monuments of the UNESCO World Heritage List’, code MIS5032809 (project code: T1EDK-04044) is part of the Action “RESEARCH-CREATION-INNOVATION” and is co-financed by the European Union and national resources through the E.P. Competitiveness, Entrepreneurship & Innovation (EPANEK) within the framework of the NSRF 2014-2020.
The program aims to offer solutions to adapt spatial planning plans for all archaeological sites and monuments to the risks they face from the effects of climate change (including extreme weather events), since the exposure, sensitivity, adaptability and ultimately vulnerability of each site depend on its environmental, geological, topographical, residential and other characteristics. , as well as the intensity and frequency of observed or estimated climate changes which are also spatially and temporally differentiated.
